This policy explains what personal data Mazar Stays collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law, Law No. 151 of 2020.
Who is responsible for your data
Wise hub for business solutions, the company behind Mazar Stays, registered in Cairo under commercial register 301567, decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for it.
What we collect
When you book: your name, email address, WhatsApp number, your nationality if you give it, your dates, the number of guests, and any note you write to the host.
When a booking requires it: your government-issued ID or passport details, to confirm who is staying.
When you create an account: the same contact details, a password stored in a form we cannot read, and a profile photo if you add one.
When you pay: the amount, the date and whether the payment went through. Card details are entered on our payment provider’s secure page and never reach us. For an instant bank transfer, we record its reference and the name it was sent from, to match it to your booking.
When you contact us: what you tell us on WhatsApp or by email, so we can answer you.
When you browse: the pages you visit, your device and browser, your approximate location from your IP address, and actions such as starting a booking or tapping WhatsApp. This comes from the analytics tools described below. Our hosting and database providers also keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.
If you book a home on Airbnb: its host may forward Airbnb’s confirmation email to us. From it we keep your first name, your booking code and your dates.
Why we use it
To take, confirm and manage your booking, and so the host can prepare for your stay.
To take payments, issue receipts and make refunds.
To contact you about your booking on WhatsApp or by email.
To send you occasional offers from Mazar Stays on WhatsApp. Tell us at any time and we will stop.
To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires.
To keep the website secure, prevent fraud, and understand how it is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
The host of the home you book, who sees your name, contact details, nationality and booking details, and your ID or passport details where the booking required them, so they can prepare for your stay and reach you.
Companies that run parts of the service for us, such as the database and sign-in, website hosting, card payments, email, maps and messaging.
Analytics and advertising tools, which count visits, show how pages are used and measure our ads.
A new owner of the business, if Mazar Stays is ever sold or merged, who would have to keep protecting your data under this policy.
Public authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these companies store data outside Egypt, and each handles it under its own privacy terms.
Cookies and browser storage
We keep a few things in your browser: your sign-in session and your choice of language and currency. The analytics tools above set their own cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser’s settings, and the website still works without the analytics ones.
How long we keep it
Booking, payment and accounting records: as long as Egyptian law requires us to keep them.
Account details: until you ask us to delete your account, except what a booking record still needs.
Forwarded booking emails: deleted after 30 days. The booking details taken from them stay with the booking.
Measurement data: for as long as each tool keeps it.
Your rights
Under Law No. 151 of 2020, you have the right to:
know what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete
have it deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it
object to how it is used, or withdraw your consent where we rely on it
be told if it is breached in a way that affects you
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You can also complain to Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Center.
Keeping it safe
Your data travels over encrypted connections, and access to it is limited to the people who need it: you, the host of the home you book, and the members of the Mazar Stays team whose work requires it.
No system is completely secure, but if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities, as the law requires.
Children
Bookings must be made by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, beyond the number of children in an adult’s booking.
Other websites
This policy covers Mazar Stays only. WhatsApp, Airbnb and our payment provider’s card page have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use them.
