Common questions

How do I pay?

Card, cash, InstaPay, or bank transfer. Everything is charged in Egyptian pounds, so you do not need an international card. Nothing is taken when you send a booking request, your host confirms first, then you receive the payment details.

Who am I booking with?

Every apartment is run by a named host, Mazar Stays’ own team (green badge) or a vetted partner (gold badge). Each host has a public profile with years of guest reviews you can read before you book. These are the same apartments already taking guests on Airbnb and Booking.com.

What happens after I book?

Your request goes to your host, not to an automatic system. They have 24 hours to confirm and it is usually the same day. Once confirmed you get the payment details and the check-in details, and you carry on with your host on WhatsApp.

Do I pay a deposit?

Two separate things, both shown on the listing before you book. The deposit is part of your total, paid once your host confirms to secure your dates, and each host sets how much it is. The damage hold is separate: some apartments take it at check-in and return it in full after check-out if the apartment is left as you found it.

What is the cancellation policy?

Set per apartment and shown on the listing before you book. Most are flexible, cancel up to 24 hours before check-in and everything above the deposit comes back. A few need 5 days and a few need 30.

How does check-in work?

Times are on every listing. Your host either meets you at the apartment with the keys or sets up self check-in, and tells you which once your booking is confirmed. If the apartment is in a gated compound, your host registers you with security so you are not held at the gate. Arriving late or on a delayed flight? Tell your host and they will arrange it.

Does the price include cleaning?

Some apartments charge a cleaning fee and some do not. Where there is one you see it as its own line before you confirm, charged once for the whole stay, so the longer you stay, the less it adds per night.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, set by the host for each apartment and shown on the listing. If your dates are one night short, the search results tell you rather than hiding the apartment.
